LOCATION
Córdoba, one of the major cities in the southern province of Andalusía, is an historical and architectural jewel with easy access to other cultural centers in the region as well as excellent connections to Madrid. Seductively beautiful, its charm and sense of intimacy are present everywhere. An authentic Andalusían city, it is an exciting place to live, study, and have a wonderful time.

UNIVERSITY OF CÓRDOBA
The University of Córdoba is a modern institution, founded in 1972, with an enrollment of 20,000 students. It is a major research center in the region.

PROGRAM FOCUS
Designed for students who want to enrich their academic work through international study, our program is an intensive language acquisition and cultural immersion experience. The emphasis is on achieving fluency and accuracy in the Spanish language while receiving a broad exposure to Spanish culture.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM
Our accredited program in Spanish Language and Cultural Studies is offered each quarter. Pre-departure advising, an enriching homestay, comprehensive orientation sessions, and culturally sensitive support services combine with a parallel program of travel, cultural events, and social activities to form an exceptional educational experience.

PROGRAM CONTENT
Students take three courses, all conducted in Spanish: Spanish Language - Intermediate or Advanced Grammar, Spanish History and Civilization, and a Language Skills Practicum. Those completing the twelve-week program will be awarded up to twenty-four quarter units or sixteen semester hours making it possible to complete one year of university-level Spanish in one quarter.

HOMESTAY
Students are placed with a carefully selected host family, one student per family, to assist with their integration into Córdoban daily life and their use of Spanish.

TRAVEL EXTENSION
Two days of sightseeing in Madrid, Segovia and Toledo.

KEY EXCURSIONS:
Day trips to historical sites and cultural attractions, including: Sevilla • Granada • Malaga.

SPORTS
Soccer, swimming, tennis, and skiing; use of the University's sports facilities.

ELIGIBILITY
Recent high school graduates and college students who have successfully completed three or more years of Spanish while maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible. Willingness to adapt to a Spanish lifestyle is critical.
