LOCATION
We have chosen an exciting location for our summer programs in Southern Spain. Cádiz is a small city of historical and architectural significance situated on the Atlantic coast with fine white sand beaches and a variety of water sports including the best windsurfing in Europe.
BRIDGES in Cádiz
Our two- and three-week summer programs are based in the province of Andalusía. Rolling Atlantic waves crash against the rocky defenses of this narrow peninsula city of 135,000, glimmering in the sunshine of southwestern Spain. Cádiz is the oldest continuously inhabited city in Western Europe, its history dominated by the sea.
The town as you see it today dates almost entirely from the 18th- and 19th centuries. Noted for its narrow streets, flat-roofed, whitewashed houses with watchtowers, flower-filled balconies and patios, it is one of the best-preserved towns of this period in Spain. You do not come here to see great museums or historic monuments. Instead you are drawn by the city’s charm and relaxed pace, its sense of intimacy, and its spirited street-life. You come to enjoy the miles of fine beaches, visit the small interior villages, and explore the coastal towns. Most of all, you come because of the graciousness of its people, who are eager to welcome you into their homes and introduce you to their way of life.
